Explore and Discover - Toddlers

As you tour West County Day School you will see that ocean life is our theme. Each one of our classrooms is named for a fish in the ocean.

Puffer Fish
This room cares for our young toddlers, age 9 months through 16 months. Eight children and two teachers keep the room busy and challenging. The toddlers begin to transition into the same schedule, with mealtimes together and a single, long afternoon nap.

Clown Fish
Children in this toddler room range between the ages 16 months and
24 months. The ratio remains 1:4, with 8 children and 2 teachers.
Children are provided with a predictable schedule and daily routines.

Transitions
Children transition to the next age group on the first Monday after
August 15th. Children transition as a group at one time, rather than
individually. This assures that they have familiar friends around them
as they begin in a new environment with new teachers. Some teachers
loop with their children, moving into the next age group with them.

Nondiscrimination Policy
Applications for enrollment are accepted without regard to race, religion, color, sex, or national origin.
