Children, ages 5 through 10 years old are welcome to attend our Before and After  school program.  
The program will be held in the Kindergarten room, which is located on the downstairs level.  

We will offer drop off and pick up service at the following schools:

Children attending Shenandoah will use the school bus for transportation.

Children arrive at school around 4:00 and will be offered a snack at that time. They will then have a
period of play outdoors before sitting down to do their homework.  Once homework is finished,  children
will participate in a group activity.  This group activity will reinforce curriculum, foster positive social
interactions, and allow for art exploration.  

Children in the After school program will be offered care on days when public school is not in session.
On these days the Kindergarten teacher will provide activities for these children.  Since these days
would be a typical holiday day for Kindergarteners, this does not mean a loss in instruction time for our
children.   The children will visit the library once a week, from 3:45 until 4:30. The day will be decided later on.  One afternoon will be spent working through a Character education curriculum. This will consists of
reading books, discussions, movies, and activities that surround a specific trait for the month.  

Children will be involved in partnering/mentoring activities once a week.  After snack and homework
time, they will be involved in structured activities with a small group of children in the preschool or toddler components.  This activity may be art, cooking, reading, etc. Friday is movie day. Piano lessons will be available for children in the After School program.  Children who are in the morning Before Care program will be served breakfast. Children in the afternoon After Care program will be served a snack.
