About West County Day School

Mission Statement

Our vision for the center is to educate, train and prepare children for the ever changing world they are challenged with today.  We want them to be strong and healthy in every aspect - emotionally, mentally, socially, intellectually and physically.

Preparing Today's Children for Tomorrow's World

West County Day School is dedicated to giving children an excellent  Early Childhood Education.  Our center serves infant to six year old children, and we offer school-age care.  Our academic, social skill emphasis approach prepares
your child not only with knowledge, but skills that will help the child to cope in everyday situations.

Philosophy and Goals

The staff and administration at West County Day School would like to welcome your family to our Early Childhood Center. Whatever your child's stage of development, WCDS has a program  to meet his or her early childhood education needs.

West County Day School is dedicated to giving children an excellent early childhood education.  Our center serves children age's six weeks to six years old  through age appropriate classrooms, a Kindergarten and after school programs.

A large percentage of WCDS' staff hold bachelor degrees, with teachers working towards master degrees or certificates.  Those without formal education have many years of experience in Early Childhood Education.  Both our staff turnover and our family withdraw rate is very low, thus providing your child with a stable, secure environment.

Curriculum

Our program curriculum is  consistent with the guidelines of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the most comprehensive accrediting body overseeing childcare, preschool, and before and after school programs.

West County Day School integrates social skills training into the curriculum, on a daily, hourly, and by the minute basis. Teaching children to be able to communicate, negotiate, and express themselves clearly, to make good choices and to be able to ask for what they want is one of our main focuses. Children's future success and well being rests on how effectively they can navigate through the many situations they will be faced with throughout life. Within West County Day School you will discover a growing group of active, happy babies, toddlers and children who are learning daily how to make friends and to be a friend.

Military Families

We accept Military fee assistance from NACCRRA. Visit www.NACCRRA.org for eligibility requirements.

Many of our schools have partnered with the National Association Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (NACCRRA) to offer active duty military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, National Guard and Reserves) assistance and reduced tuition rates when child care at a military installation is not available. Contact your school of choice for information.
